    Big Wally's Plaster Magic
For the reattachment and stabilization of historic plasters

The most vexing problem with historic plasters is that they sag or crack.

    Big Wally's Plaster Magic
will solve this problem forever! A four step process re-establishes a solid but flexible bond that lasts.
    1. Drill the injection sites (holes) through the plaster. This step also allows evaluation of the gap between the plaster and the lath.
    2. Inject the Big Wally's Plaster Magic
Conditioner into the holes. This consolidates the fine dust found on the back side of historic plasters and allows Big Wally's Plaster Magic Adhesive to penetrate and grip both the plaster and the lath.
    3. Inject Big Wally's Plaster Magic
    Adhesive into the drilled holes.
    4. Clamp, temporarily, the plaster into soft contact with the lath with screws and 2" plastic washers.

    Big Wally's Plaster Magic
Adhesive flows under pressure into the space between the plaster and the lath and stay where you put it.
Follow the instructions and you can attach historic plasters to wood lath or masonry.

Using screws and metal washers may seem like the correct thing to do when repairing old plaster but it just doesn't last.

The reason is that screws and metal washers provide a very rigid, narrow attachment point that will not move with the building, lath, or plaster.

    Big Wally's Plaster Magic
Adhesives provide a long term flexible, wide area of attachment. This allows movement while still holding firm.

Clean up is a breeze, as the wet material cleans with warm water and soap.

Step #1. Drill 3/16" holes through the plaster surface with a masonry bit. Start with the area around the cracks and work outward, about 8 to 10 inches apart. The amount of "jump" the drill takes after it drill through the plaster and when it contacts the lath, will tell you how far the plaster has moved away the lath.

Step #2. Inject Big Wally's Plaster Magic
Conditioner under pressure into the holes. A good tool for this is high quality garden sprayer.

Step #3. Inject Big Wally's Plaster Magic
Adhesive into the same holes as Big Wally's Plaster Magic Conditioner with a bulk load caulk gun. The amount is about one half handle squeeze per hole. Allow no more than 10 minutes between treating the area with conditioner and injecting the adhesive.

Step #4. Temporarily clamp the plaster and lath into "soft contact" until Big Wally's Plaster Magic
Adhesive has set. This usually takes about 24 to 48 hours depending on environmental conditions. Then remove the screws and washers.

Your plaster is now stable and you can now fill the holes and cracks.
